Panel - Partnership Working to Drive Growth
Ensuring effective partnership between Local Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Local Business to drive growth, senior managers and/or leaders from each of our local authorities will be taking questions about how they are actively supporting business growth in their area. This will include ESCC, Hastings, Rother, Wealden, Eastbourne, Lewes and the Newhaven Enterprise Zone. We are also fortunate that Graham Peters, Vice President of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP), will be on the panel.
Graham Peters will cover how SELEP is delivering business growth in East Sussex and managing growth funding from central government.
The conference is held after the local council elections so a list of Councillors names will be posted once the results are in on Friday 3rd May.

Specialist Panel "Overcoming Barriers to Growth" Our new panel will take questions from the floor about areas which prevent growth and how to overcome them: Gatwick Airport has grown to become the busiest single runway airport in the world since they were taken over by Global Infrastructure Partners in 2009. Tim Norwood , Corporate Director and architect of the Gatwick Master Plan, will talk about making growth happen and their plans for the future. Huw Merriman MP and Transport Select Committee Member will answer questions about government plans to provide an effective transport infrastructure for the future growth of East Sussex. Lord Ralph Lucas is a sitting member of the House of Lords and a member of the Coastal Communities Regeneration Select Committee. The committee has just published an important report about seaside towns and so Lord Lucas understands how important a vibrant business sector is to every seaside town in East Sussex. Michael Dale of Firebrand will talk about ensuring your brand and marketing are attracting the best talent, as well as customers, to drive growth. Dan Shelley Director of East Sussex College Group will tell you how the college can help develop talented staff in your business across East Sussex. Richard Teal of Enterprise Europe Network will talk about the support available for SMEs to export their services, intellectual property and products to Europe. Kate Thorpe of Sussex University Responsible for research, innovation and business partnerships at the University, Kate will explain how partnership working can help your business develop and flourish. |
